JULY 19-24, 2011 marks the 31st annual Hemingway Days celebration in Key West, Florida.
Pulitzer Prize-winning author, Ernest Hemingway, had a zest for life, and Key West formed a huge part of his persona. He worked from his studio on Whitehead Street, and fished regularly in the aqua-colored waters surrounding the island.
Hemingway socialized with the local people, as well as his literary cohorts, so every year they come together to commemorate his larger-than-life personality, exuberant lifestyle, and energetic enthusiasm for Key West.
This year, fans will enjoy look-alike contests, museum presentations, memorabilia, and literary competitions in honor of the 20th century’s most famous author. It is always great fun.
